There used to be a side panel view that showed the daily task list when you clicked on a specific day in my calendar, while in monthly view. Unfortunately, after the update, this seems to have been removed. But why did this happen? Well, according to the Microsoft statement:
The Daily Task List side panel that was available in the classic Outlook for Windows has been removed in the New Outlook for Windows experience. This change is part of Microsoft’s design update to unify Outlook across platforms.
