Cannot Set Security Patch Date via Tricky Addon/KsuWebUI [Fixed]

In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the issue of being unable to set the security patch date via Tricky Store’s Addon using KsuWebUI. While passing the Strong Integrity test was itself an effort-taking task, with the new Android 13+ checks [from May 21st onwards], this process has become all the more complicated and lengthy. One of the newly introduced steps involves setting the security patch date for the boot and vendor [for system, it’s always set to prop].

While that’s a fairly easy task, which involves launching KsuWebUI > selecting Tricky Store > tapping on the hamburger menu > selecting Set Security Patch > Get Security Patch Date > Save, some users have voiced their concern that they are unable to get this job done. Manually Enter Date in KsuWebUI

  1. Launch KsuWebUI > select Tricky Store > tap on the hamburger menu.
  2. Then select Set Security Patch > checkmark Advanced.
  3. Now, manually type in the Date under Boot and Vendor and hit Save.
  4. The format should be YYYY-MM-DD, such as 2025-06-05

Manually Create the Security Patch Text File

  1. Download & install the Solid File Manager app.
  2. Now launch it and go to data/adb/tricky_store.
  3. Then tap on the plus icon and select New File.
  4. Name it security_patch.txt and then open it.
  5. Type in the below values in the file and save it: system=prop boot=2025-06-05 vendor=2025-06-05
  6. Finally, restart the device and check out the result.
