So if you want to interact with those emojis, you will instead end up pressing the delete key, thereby removing the characters that are there on your screen.

In order to rectify this issue, you’ll have to downgrade Gboard, i.e., download and install an older version of this app. So get it from here and install it onto your device. Once done, launch GBoard and the underlying issue will be rectified.

Do note that on some devices, you wouldn’t be able to do the downgrade unless you uninstall the existing version of Gboard. But since Gboard is usually a system app, you wouldn’t be able to uninstall it from the Settings menu. In such cases, you’ll have to take the help of ADB Commands to uninstall this app and then install its older build from the above link. That’s it.
