Downgrade OnePlus from Android 16 to 15/OxygenOS 16 to 15

UPDATE: OnePlus has introduced Anti Roll Back [ARB] . So, downgrading a device from OxygenOS 16 to an older version might lead to the device getting hardbricked. Initially, it was assumed that it might only be true for unofficial downgrades, but it seems that even the official one, which involves Local Install, could lead to a bricked device. So please do not downgrade your device until further notice. All the updates will be added here [in short] and on my main guide as well [in detail].

Downgrade OnePlus 13 from Android 16 to 15 - 1

This guide will show you the steps to downgrade your OnePlus from Android 16/OxygenOS 16 to Android 15/OxygenOS 15. It is quite commendable to see that OnePlus has dethroned the likes of Samsung, which is currently not even able to roll out the stable Android 15, and has become the first non-Pixel OEM to roll out the sixteenth iteration of the OS.

As a result of this, you are about to welcome a slew of intriguing goodies and some noteworthy features to the fore. However, this is just one side of the coin. Since this update is in its testing phase, you are bound to face quite a few bugs and issues. For instance, in the first release of Android 16, the following are just some of the concerning issues that are bugging the firmware:

  • Unable to close the version update pop-up after upgrading to the DPP version.
  • Font weight settings cannot be adjusted.
  • The device may restart when answering a call using Bluetooth headsets.
  • Lag and display errors in the camera viewfinder and thumbnail in certain scenarios.
  • Blurry or unclear camera viewfinder in some cases.
  • The camera crashes when switching to Macro mode with the rear camera.
  • Crashes and lag after enabling Ultra Steady mode.
  • Display error in the camera viewfinder during video recording in specific scenarios.
  • The screen may freeze when tapping the accessibility shortcut button on the home screen.
  • Lag is observed when locking the screen.

With that said, some tech enthusiasts have still given it a try but are now questioning their decision about the same. If you are in the same boat, then fret not. Fortunately, the OEM has provided the downgrade package that will help you roll back your OnePlus 13 from Android 16/OxygenOS 16 to Android 15/OxygenOS 15. So, without any further ado, let’s show you how this could be carried out.

How to Root OnePlus 13 via KernelSU Next and SUSFS

In this guide, we will show you the steps to root your OnePlus 13 via KernelSU Next and SUSFS. There exist quite a few ways using which you can root your Android device, with Magisk reigning supreme at the top. However, we are seeing a slight change in the priority among the tech enthusiasts. There has been a minuscule yet noticeable shift among the users from Magisk to its counterparts.

These include the likes of unofficial forks of Magisk like Kitsune or Delta, or other third-party alternatives like KernelSU, APatch, and KernelSU Next. So why this change all of a sudden? Well, it has now become quite a challenging task to hide root as banking and payment apps have put in place numerous checks for the Magisk binary.

However, they are yt to do so for the aforementioned apps. Hence, if you rooted via any of those apps, then there’s a high chance that you can easily bypass the root checks on your device and use payment apps without any issues. So due to all these reasons, this guide will show you the steps to root your OnePlus 13 via KernelSU Next and SUSFS. Follow along,
