Why Should You Manually Download Firmware?
There are a slew of reasons why you would want to manually grab hold of the firmware files. Let’s have a look at some of the noteworthy ones:
Unbrick Device
If your device is currently in a softbrick or bootloop state, then you can manually flash the stock firmware and bring your device back to life. However, do note that this firmware wouldn’t be able to help you out in case your device gets hard-bricked [when the device is in EDL Mode-Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoaders 9008]. In such scenarios, you’ll have to take the help of a dedicated unbrick tool, which is yet to go live for this device.

Root Device
You can use the stock firmware and get the init_boot file [for Magisk] or boot.img file [or APatch] so as to root your device.

Disable Android Verified Boot
In some cases, such as when flashing a GSI ROM, you’ll need to disable the Android Verified Boot. And for that, you would need the vbmeta.img file, which you can get from the stock firmware.

Fix Partitions
If a partition gets corrupted, you can simply use the file corresponding to that partition and easily fix it. For example, if the boot slot is corrupted, then extract the boot.img from the firmware and flash it via fastboot flash boot boot.img.

These are just some of the reasons why you would need to download the stock firmware for your Nothing Phone 3; there can be a plethora of others. But without any further ado, let’s now make you aware of the download links.

How to Get Init/Boot or Boot File for Rooting
If you want to get the init_boot.img or boot.img for rooting via Magisk or APatch, then there’s no need to download the entire firmware. Just download the boot.7Z file from the same firmware that is currently installed on your device [verify it from your device’s Build Number] and extract it. You’ll then get the boot.img and init_boot.img, which can then be used for rooting purposes.
