What’s New in Pixel 10 Series Camera
Here are some of the noteworthy features in the Pixel 10 Camera that deserve your attention:
New and Improved Camera Lenses
For the first time, Pixel 10 comes with a 5x telephoto lens. This results in an improved zoom quality, fast autofocus, 10x optical quality, and Super Res Zoom up to 20x. Likewise, its Fold variant features a new 48MP rear camera sensor, which, when coupled with advanced ultrawide and telephoto lenses, spells out the best Macro Focus and Super Res Zoom.

If we talk about Auto Best Take, then it kicks in during a group shot and automatically picks up the best shot from the lot by analyzing up to 150 frames in a few seconds.

Edit by Prompts
Gone are the days of manually carrying out edits on your photos. You now just type in the required edit that is needed on that image, and Google Photos will get the job done for you.

Improved Panorama
Panorama Mode now supports 5x telephoto panoramas, with up to 100MP resolution, manual focus, and zoom support as well.
Instant View
Another underappreciated feature that I stumbled upon is the Instant View on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Using this, you can easily see your recently taken image on the left while the camera viewfinder will still be opened on the right! There’s no need to minimize the camera app and launch the gallery to view your clicks and then go back to the camera to recapture it [if the shot didn’t come out as you expected it to be]. You can now carry out all these tasks on the go at the same time.

Material 3 Expressive Design
With Android 16, we welcomed the new Material 3 Expressive Design elements throughout the OS. And now, the camera app is going to be a beneficiary of the same.

How to Install Pixel 10 Camera APK Bundle [APKM] File
Since the Google Camera is in the form of an APK Bundle, you wouldn’t be able to install it the normal way. Instead, you’ll have to take the help of either SAI or APKMirror Installer . We usually prefer the former because it does not bombard us with ads as opposed to the latter, which is more interested in showing ads than installing APKs [ouch!]. With that said, the choice is all yours. We have made a detailed guide on how you can install an APK Bundle file . You may either refer to it or check out the shorter instructions given below:
- To begin with, download and install SAI from the above link.
- Then launch it and tap on Install APKs > Internal File Picker.
- Choose the Google Camera APKM file and hit Select > Install.
- For Pixel phones, you’ll have to tap Update instead of Install.
How to Install AI Model in Pixel Camera App
Proceed with the below steps to install the AI Model for the Pro Res Zoom which will allow you to zoom 100x, a first in any Pixel device!
- Launch Pixel Camera and tap on the settings icon at the bottom left.
- Now tap on the overflow icon at the top right to open Settings menu.
- After that, tap on Model Download > Pro Res Zoom [it’s 1GB in size].
- The file will now be downloaded. Once done, you may now test it out.
Compatibility of Pixel 10 Camera App
First and foremost, it requires Android 16+. Moreover, some of the features are exclusively aimed at the Tensor G5 chipset, so it “might” not work on older Pixel devices [and would surely not work on non-Pixel devices]. But hey, it doesn’t take much to install an APKM file [well, apart from downloading a 1 GB file], so go ahead, give it a try, and see what all features are working on your device!
UPDATE 1: Pixel Camera Version 10.1 is Now Live
Google has just rolled out another update to the Camera app, bumping the version to 10.1.076.816441313.17. The easiest way to update the app is directly from the Play Store, but that might take some time. In the meantime, you can manually sideload the app as well from a third-party site like APK Mirror.
As before, it is a Split APK file, so you’ll have to use an app like Split APK Installer or APKMirror Installer to install this APKM file. Oh, and one more thing, the file size is a whopping 1.4GB!! 1400 MB for a camera app is something hard to digest, but we are living in strange time nowadays, so anything and everything is possible!
Supported Devices
You can install it on all Pixel devices with the Tensor chipset, aka from Pixel 6 to the latest Pixel 10 series. However, the devices should be running the latest Android 16 OS.

On my Pixel 9 Pro XL, the Material 3 Expressive Design is the only noticeable change.
