Fix Screen Does Not Light Up on WhatsApp Call on S25 Ultra
In this guide, we will show you the steps to fix the issue of the screen not lighting up on WhatsApp Call on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Recently, my friend purchased this flagship from the South Korean giants and used its Smart Switch feature to transfer WhatsApp data from the old phone to the new one [instead of getting the job done manually]. While he got all his data back, however, there was one weird issue.
Whenever he got a WhatsApp call, the screen did not light up, although he could hear the ringtone, but the screen was all black. He always had to double-tap on the screen or use the Power button to wake the display, and then only he was able to see the caller’s name.

I did a few searches online and found out that he wasn’t the only one having this issue, numerous complaints on the Samsung Community were also lined up regarding this exact same issue. Over there, some users shared a workaround- uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp from scratch- without using the Smart Switch feature.
While performing that is a relatively easy job, however, I have literally zero trust in WhatsApp’s Chat Backup and Restore feature. So I left that so-called fix aside and did some further research. And guess what? I finally stumbled upon a fix and decided to share my findings here. So if you were also facing this issue, then it’s time to bid it adieu once and for all!
