Hey Google and OK Google not working for Gemini [Fixed]

When trying to invoke the assistant, they are instead getting greeted with the “Trouble connecting. Check your connection and try again” error.

While Google Assistant and Gemini can still be launched manually via the power button or app, the voice activation just refuses to work.   1. Open the Google app, tap on your profile at the top right, and select Settings.
  2. Go to Gemini > Talk to Gemini hands-free > Enable the toggle next to Hey Google.
  3. Train Gemini if required and then verify that the Hey Google toggle is enabled.
  4. Now launch Gemini and then ask it a question using the microphone.
  5. Then say Hey Google. That’s it. You may now switch back to Google Assistant.

While the last two steps might seem redundant, but it is a must, so please don’t ignore them.
