How to Add Silent and Vibrate Quick Settings Tiles on Pixel

Silent and Vibrate Quick Settings Tiles on Pixel - 1

I recently got my hands on Pixel 9 Pro XL as my primary device [I was using Pixel for ages, but they all were only for testing purposes, and my attention to detail was mostly in the custom development]. But now that I’m using it every day, I found out that there were a few missing pieces in its OS skin that were resulting in quite a lot of inconvenience. And no, we aren’t talking about anything unique; these are the features that many OEMs have incorporated in their devices for ages.

One such functionality that is nowhere to be found on Pixel devices is the Silent and Vibrate toggles in the Quick Settings tiles.

While I get it that it’s not the end of the world, as you can easily bring up the Volume panel with just a single press of either of the two Volume buttons. But that is the very thing I want to avoid. Instead of the volume press, I want to switch between Normal/Silent/Vibrate via the QS Tile. So, is there any non-root way of getting this job done? Well, there are quite a few ways for the same, and in this guide, we will be having a look at three such methods. So without any further ado, let’s get started.

Given here are three different apps that will help you get this job done. We have mentioned the drawbacks of each of them. So go through them once and then try out the one that is in sync with your requirement.

Sound Quick Settings

  • Benefit: It will give you a Volume menu from where you can carry out the desired volume tweaks. These include the likes of changing the volume of Media, Call, Notification, and Alarm, and toggling Live Caption. So apart from putting the device to Vibrate and Silent, it holds the aforementioned tweaks in its arsenal as well, something that other names in this list cannot claim.
  • Drawback: The benefit can also be counted as its drawback as the tile wouldn’t silent or put the device to vibrate in one tap. Instead, you’ll then have to use the Volume menu to get the job done.

Vibrate Mode Toggle QS Tile

  • Benefit: Clean Stock UI, which does the job quite easily
  • Drawback: It only has Vibration and Normal; Silent Mode is not there.

Sound Toggle

  • Benefit: It is the only open-source app in this list. It also has all three options- Vibration, Silent, and Mute.
  • Drawback: While you can get the app on F-Droid and GitHub, it isn’t there on the Play Store. This might persuade some users from trying it out.
