How to Add Swipe to Take Screenshot on any Custom/Stock ROM
In this guide, we will show you the steps to add the “swipe to take a screenshot” gesture on any stock/custom ROMs. I personally prefer this gesture style over using the hardware key combination. Moreover, if either the Volume or Power button is not working, then using this gesture is your only way out.
In this regard, many custom ROMs have already adopted this feature, and a few stock OS are adding it as well. However, there are still a few popular custom ROMs. [like LineageOS] as well as stock OS [Pixel] that have yet to turn their attention towards this functionality. How to Add ‘Swipe to Take Screenshot’ on any Custom/Stock ROM
Before starting, please take a complete device backup. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.
- To begin with, root your device using Magisk / KernelSU / APatch .
- Now, download the Three-Finger-Screenshot mod from GitHub. DOWNLOAD LINK [Credits: MeowDump]
- Then, flash this mod via your rooting app and restart the device.
- Now go to your rooting app’s Module tab and tap on the module.
- Finally, hit the Action button to enable/disable this gesture.
How is it Different from AOSP Style Screenshot Gesture?
One major difference between the two is that while the AOSP-style gesture offers a couple of handy shortcuts right within the preview window, such as Share, Edit, Delete, and Google Lens, the module one doesn’t offer any such shortcuts. Anyway, that’s just a minor blip on the radar because we atleast have got our hands on a feature that was non-existent before.
