How to Convert OnePlus 15 from ColorOS to OxygenOS
In this guide, we will show you the steps to convert your OnePlus 15 from ColorOS to OxygenOS. The devices from this Chinese OEM boast a power-packed specs sheet with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 165Hz refresh rate, and massive 7300mAh battery. As far as the underlying OS is concerned, it ships with ColorOS 16 if you purchase the device from China or OxygenOS 16 if you have got it from any other region [IND, EU, NA, etc]. It’s no hidden secret that OxygenOS is miles ahead of ColorOS.
However, users living in China don’t have a say in that. While that is understandable, what isn’t is why users outside of China tend to import their OnePlus from China. Well, it is because the device is somewhat cheaper than the international market. But these savings come at a cost, and this cost is the bloated UI experience. Fortunately, you can now put this problem to rest, as a method now exists that allows you to easily convert your OnePlus 15 from ColorOS to OxygenOS. So without any further ado, let’s show you how this could be carried out.

Can I Relock Bootloader After Converting to OxygenOS?
Yes, you can. But it is highly recommended that you don’t do so as there’s always a chance of things going south and your device ending in a bootloop or softbricked astate. If that happens in an unlocked device, then you can easily flash the fimrware in Fastboot Mode and rectify the issue. But you wouldn’t be able to do so if your device is locked.
Apart from that, both the Fastboot and Recovery Mode will become unavailable once you relock the bootloader and you wouldn’t be able to use the Deep Testing APK to unlcok the device. Your only course of actyion is to opt for the EDL firmware flashing to get back to ColorOS and unlock again. All in all, while you can unlock the bootlaoder on your OnePlus device converted from ColorOS to Oxygen, but it is highly recommended that you don’t do so due to the aforementioned issues.
