FIX 1: Reset APN
Your first course of action should be to reset the Access Point Name and then set it up from scratch. But before that, please note down the current APN values [or a much easier way is to simply take a screenshot of that page]. Here’s how all of this could be carried out:
- Head over to Settings > Mobile Network > Choose your SIM.
- Then go to Access Point Name and select your active APN.
- Now, take a scrolling screenshot of the entire page [this will act as a backup].
- Then reset the APN and restart your device.
- After the reboot, the APN profile should automatically be filled.
- If that doesn’t happen, then remove and reinsert the SIM and check the result.
- Or you may manually enter the details from the screenshot that you took earlier.
- Once done, now check if the cellular data 4G/5G issue is fixed in the Custom ROM or not.
FIX 2: Flash Correct Region’s Firmware
One of the most common reasons for this issue is cross-flashing the firmware, i.e., flashing an incorrect region’s firmware before flashing the ROM. If you have done so as well, then please flash the correct firmware and then reflash the ROM [make sure to take a backup before performing these steps].

FIX 3: Using the Info Menu
- To begin with, launch the Dialer app on your device and type: ##4636##
- Now select Phone Info > tap on Set Preferred Network Type.
- Next, choose either of the following from the drop-down list: NR/LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA NR/LTE/WCDMA NR/LTE NR Only
- Now, restart your device and check if the issue is fixed or not.
FIX 4: Format Network
The issue might also appear if the network settings get corrupted. Therefore, you should consider resetting the network settings to their factory default settings. But before that, please sync your WiFi passwords with your Google account or note them down somewhere. Once done, let’s get started with the reset process:
- Go to Settings > System > Reset > Reset Network.
- Again, tap on Reset in the confirmation dialog box.
- Now, restart your device and check out the results.
FIX 5: Contact the Developer
If none of the aforementioned methods spelled out success, then you should get in touch with the ROM’s developer and inform him of the issue. The developer might then roll out the patch in the next build of the ROM.
