The process below will wipe off all the data on your device, so please take a complete device backup beforehand. Important Points to Keep in Mind

  • If you are using Japanese ROM (15.0.022) and the bootloader is locked, then you’ll have to first unlock the bootloader [instructions given below]. Do note that this also applies to those users who locked the bootloader in 15.0.008 and then updated to 022 via OTA.
  • Moreover, the Chinese ROM 15.0.761 will be bricked if you update to the Global ROM, even if the bootloader is unlocked. So, do not attempt to update the Global ROM as it will result in a bricked tablet.
  • Most importantly, once you have installed the Global Firmware, do not relock the bootloader until a new OTA update arrives for the Global ROM with a higher rollback index. In other words, to lock the bootloader, you must use a firmware with a rollback index number that is equal to or higher than the currently installed firmware.

Unplug your tablet from the PC before starting with the below steps.

  1. First off, download and install Lenovo RSA . Now launch it and log in to your account.
  2. Then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the tablet in the EDL Mode.
  3. Now, click Rescue and select Tablets. Type in any random alphanumeric characters in the Serial Number section.
  4. The tool will not be able to identify your device, not an issue. Choose “Select your model from the list”.
  5. Input Lenovo Legion TabY702 under Device Type and TB320FCY702 under Model Number.
  6. It will download the firmware and the QPST Tool. Once done, hit Rescue.
  7. Then click Proceed > Continue with the Rescue Software Upgrade > OK.
  8. Now, power off the tablet. Then press and hold the Volume Up key and connect the tablet to the PC via USB cable.
  9. Your tablet’s screen will be completely blank with no indication; that’s normal. The flashing will now start as well.
  10. Once done, you’ll get the Rescue complete message, hit OK. Your tablet will now automatically boot to the OS.

Change the Region Code

  1. Go to Settings and type ####6020# in the search box
  2. Then select KR and click OK to restart.
  3. Once done, you can check your current region code by entering ####5993# in the Settings app.
