How to Flash LineageOS 23 Android 16 on Poco F5 [Video]

This guide will show you the steps to flash the latest LineageOS 23 based on Android 16 onto your Poco F5. The fifth iteration of the device from Poco is among the best players in the custom development, even better than its predecessors. It was already blessed with over 50+ Android 15-based custom ROMs, and now, things are on the right track for Android 16 too.

While it has been only a few months since the latest OS build was live, it has already gained immense support from the developers. As a result of this, numerous Android 16 ROMs are already live plenty more are about to make their presence felt. The latest one to step forward is everyone’s favorite- LineageOS.

While it wouldn’t give you a truckload of features that the likes of crDroid and Evolution X provide, but a clean stock UI experience coupled with a fast and snappy UX is on the cards. So without any further ado, let’s make you aware of the steps to install the LineageOS 23 Android 16 onto your Poco F5. Follow along.

Before starting, please take a complete device backup. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.

NOTE: The initial launch of LineageOS [23.0] is still based on Android 16 “QPR0” instead of QPR 1 because the latter’s source isn’t public yet. Thanks, Google :/ As a result of which, you will miss out on some goodies like the new Material 3 Expressive Design.

  1. Before starting, make sure your Poco F5 is running Android 15 OS.
  2. To begin with, download and extract Android SDK Platform Tools .
  3. Then, enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your device.
  4. Now unlock the bootloader on your device [backup your data first].
  5. Open Command Prompt inside the platform-tools folder and type: adb reboot bootloader
  6. If you don’t have the Fastboot Drivers installed, then do so as well.
  7. Next up, download the ROM and partition IMG files from this link .
  8. Once it’s done, transfer all the files inside the platform-tools folder.
  9. Now flash the partition IMG files using the below-given commands: fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  10. Then reboot your device to the recovery using the below command: fastboot reboot recovery
  11. Then do a Factory Reset followed by the Format data/Factory reset.
  12. After that, go to Apply Update > Apply from ADB to start sideload.
  13. Now type in the below command in the CMD window to flash ROM: adb sideload rom.zip
  14. To flash any other ZIP file , do a reboot to recovery and then sideload.
  15. Finally, select Reboot Now to boot to the newly flashed LineageOS 23.
