How to Flash TWRP Recovery on Redmi 13C/Poco C65

In this guide, we will show you the steps to flash the TWRP Recovery onto your Redmi 13C/Poco C65. Flashing a custom recovery is a relatively simple task, irrespective of the fact whether your device has a recovery partition or not. However, with this device, things are a tad bit different, and not for good.

Not only does it require an additional flashing in the Ramdisk partition [apart from the usual flashing in the boot partition], you’ll also need to flash the preloader file beforehand to prevent any bricks or bootloops. So in this guide, we will be covering all these aspects in detail. Without any further delay, let’s get started.

How to Flash TWRP Recovery on Redmi 13C/Poco C65

Before starting, please take a complete device backup. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.

NOTE: While flashing preloader.bin is not compulsory, it is highly recommended that you do so before flashing any custom ROM, recovery, or kernel, as it will be easier to fix your device in case it ends up in a bootloop or bricked state.

  1. Download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
  2. After that, enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking on your PC.
  3. Now unlock the bootloader on your device: HyperOS 1 | HyperOS 2 .
  4. Next, if you are on HyperOS 2, then downgrade to HyperOS 1 first.
  5. Now download the Fastboot ROM corresponding to the OS version: Redmi 13C | Poco C65
  6. Then extract it, get the boot.img file from it, and transfer it to the PC.
  7. Now download the preloader.bin file and transfer it to platform-tools.
  8. Once it’s done, download the recovery file for your device from below: TWRP for Redmi 13C/Poco C65 [gale]: DOWNLOAD LINK
  9. Rename the recovery to twrp.img and then transfer it to platform-tools.
  10. Then boot your device to the Fastboot Mode using the below command adb reboot bootloader
  11. If you need to install Fastboot Drivers as well, then do so from this guide .
  12. Now flash the preloader.bin file using the below command: fastboot flash preloader_a preloader_gale.bin fastboot flash preloader_b preloader_gale.bin
  13. Now flash the TWRP Recovery to the boot partition using the below command
  14. fastboot flash boot twrp.img
  15. After that, boot your device to the TWRP Recovery using the below command: fastboot reboot recovery
  16. Now, go to Install > Tap on Install from Image > Flash the ‘stock’ boot.img file.
  17. Next, go to Advanced, select Install Recovery Ramdisk, select twrp.img, flash it.
  18. Finally, go to Reboot > System to boot your device to the OS having the TWRP!
