How to Install One UI 8/8.5 via ADB Sideload [Seamless Updates]

In this guide, we will show you the detailed steps to install the latest One UI 8/8.5 based on Android 16 via ADB Sideload on your Samsung device. While the South Korean giant had made a mess of the One UI 7 release with some devices still waiting to get the stable Android 15 build, things are looking somewhat good for its successor. The testing phase has already started for the One UI 8, and the flagship devices have already gotten a taste of the same.

The easiest way of welcoming beta updates onto your device has always been the Samsung Members app, however, there have been a few issues with it as well, from users not being able to enroll to the Beta group to the OEM delaying the OTA rollout process [because the updates are rolled out in batches, hence not everyone will get it at one go].

adb sideload one ui 8 - 1

So, is there a shorter way out? Yes, there’s one! You can skip this waiting queue and install the latest One UI 8 Android 16 update directly via ADB Sideload on your Samsung device. However, as opposed to earlier times, the process has been changed this time around, so we thought of creating this guide explaining the entire process in detail.

The reason for this change is the fact that the Galaxy S25 devices now support Seamless Updates [A/B System Updates], hence, the generic Sideload method might not work. So, on that note, let’s make you aware of the new method right away.

Before starting, please take a complete device backup. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device, and data by performing the below steps.

The Paid/Non-Root Method

  1. First off, download, install, and set up Shizuku on your device.
  2. Now, download the One UI 8 update and rename it to update.zip.
  3. By default, the extension will be .bin, so make sure to change it to .zip.
  4. Now transfer this update.zip file to the Internal Storage [/storage/emulated/0/].
  5. Then download and install the Root Activity Launcher [PAID] app.
  6. Now launch it and give it the Shizuku access.
  7. Then tap on Search Components at the bottom right.
  8. Then search for the below activity and open it. com.idm.fotaagent.enabler.ui.admin.main.AdminMainActivity
  9. Now tap on the Link icon and select Add to Home Screen > Add.
  10. Then launch it and choose “Sideload”. Then select the update ZIP file from the list.
  11. The update will now be downloaded, installed, and verified. Once done, hit Reboot.
  12. That’s it. Your Samsung device will now reboot to the One UI 8/Android 16 update.

NOTE: While you might be able to ask for a refund right after using the app, however, we strictly advise doing so as your purchase will help the developer and the app go a long way. Moreover, it’s not that you’ll be able to carry out this purchase-refund process every time because the refund is only applicable for the first time usage. So from the subsequent ADB sideloads, you’ll anyway need to purchase this app [unless you opt for the root method, given below].
