How to Remove Duplicate Drives in File Explorer on Windows 11

In this guide, we will show you the steps to remove duplicate drives from the navigation pane of File Explorer in Windows 11. When you plug in any device removable drive on your PC, then it will end up showing under the This PC section as well as a separate entity beneath it.

  1. Create a new text file and paste the below commands: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFolders{F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}]
  2. Then go to File > Save As > change Save As Type to All Files.
  3. Give it any name of your choice but keep the extension .reg and save it.
  4. Now launch that file. You’ll get a prompt, click on YES.
