Yes, you read that right, it’s not a clickbait article! There does exist a nifty workaround using which you can easily run rooted apps without actually rooting your device. But how is that possible, and more importantly, is there any catch in this process? Let’s find out.

Well, we will be installing an Android OS inside an emulator, which will be installed on your device. Whatever tweak you carry out inside that emulator will have no impact whatsoever on the primary OS. So we will then root your emulator via SuperSU and then install and run the desired rooted apps there.

But there should be a catch? Yes, there’s a minor one, and it’s that the emulator will be running Android 9, which is quite an old OS. So there are a few apps that might not function on such an aged operating system. The best way to find it out is to simply install the emulator onto your device right away. So without any further ado, let’s get started.

Even though there’s going to be no data loss, still take a backup of all the data on your device, just to be on the safe side. Once that’s done, let’s get going.

  1. Download and install the VMOS app from the Play Store.
  2. Then launch it, tap on Open > Go to activation.
  3. Now choose either of the three methods to activate it.
  4. We are using Notifications [which involves Wireless Debugging].
  5. Once done, hit the plus icon and choose Android 9 [recommended].
  6. The said OS will now be installed on your device.
  7. Once done, tap on the OS card and select Quick Entry. You’ll now be inside Android 9!
  8. Now launch the Via browser and go to www.google.com. [the default serch engine is baidu which might not be accessible in most regions].
  9. Then search for the desired rooting app and download it. Then install it and launch it.
  10. You’ll now get the SuperUser request, select Remember Choice Forever and tap Allow. That’s it.
