How to Show Network Speed on Samsung [Root/Non-Root]

In this guide, we will show you the steps to show the network speed on your Samsung device via two different methods. Up until now, many users have been getting this job done by using a third-party app. But guess what, Samsung devices natively have this feature, though for some reason, it has been hidden from the reach of the general users. So in this guide, we will show you two different methods through which you can unlock this feature and enable this functionality right away. Follow along for the instructions.

How to Show Network Speed on Samsung via Hidden WiFi Developer Options

This method shows the Link Speed, which is the maximum possible data rate between your device and the router (local network), and not your current internet speed.

  1. Head over to Settings > Connections > WiFi> Tap on the overflow icon > select Intelligent WiFi.
  2. Then tap on the Intelligent WiFi version number 7 times. This will enable the Connectivity Labs.
  3. Go there, scroll to the bottom, and select WiFi Developer Options.
  4. Then go to Connection Information and check out the Link Speed.
  5. On newer One UI, you’ll get the TX and RX, whereas on older ones, you’ll only get the Link Speed. Link Speed: It represents the maximum potential speed between your device and the router. TX (Transmit/Upload): The maximum speed at which your device can send data to a server or other devices. RX (Receive/Download): The maximum speed at which your device can receive data from the internet.
  6. For example, a 100 Mbps Link Speed generally means a 100 Mbps transmit (Tx) and 100 Mbps receive (Rx) capability.

  1. To begin with, root your Samsung device .
  2. Now install a root-supported file manager .
  3. Then launch it and grant it the SU request.
  4. After that, head over to the below location: optics/config/carrier/ CSC /conf/system/cscfeature.xml
  5. Open cscfeature.xml file via HTML viewer.
  6. Then add the lines depending on your OS: Android 13: <CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>TRUE</CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed> Android 14: <CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed>TRUE</CscFeature_Setting_SupportRealTimeNetworkSpeed> <CscFeature_Common_SupportZProjectFunctionInGlobal>TRUE</CscFeature_Common_SupportZProjectFunctionInGlobal>
  7. Save the changes and go to Advanced Settings.
