How to Root Poco F7/Ultra via Magisk

STEP 1: The Prerequisites
- Download and extract Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
- Then, enable USB Debugging & OEM Unlocking on your device.
- After that, connect your device to the PC via USB.
- Then, open CMD inside the platform-tools folder.
STEP 2: Unlock Bootloader Poco F7/Ultra
Gone are the days when you can simply hit Unlock in the Mi Unlock Tool and unlock the bootloader. While things have become quite complicated with both HyperOS 1 and 2, however, we do have nifty workarounds down our sleeves. STEP 3: Root Poco F7/Ultra
- First off, download the same ROM which is installed on your device.
- Then, extract that Fastboot ROM TGZ file and you’ll get the TAR file.
- Now extract the TAR file, go to the Images folder, and copy init_boot.
- Transfer the init_boot.img to your device. Now install the Magisk app .
- Then launch it, tap Install next to Magisk, and Select and Patch a File.
- Choose init_boot.img. It’ll be patched and placed in Downloads folder.
- Transfer it from the Downloads folder over to the platform tools folder.
- It is recommended that you rename the file to patched_init_boot.img.
- Then type in the below command to boot your device to Fastboot Mode adb reboot bootloader
- Now type in the below command to flash the patched init_boot.img file: fastboot flash init_boot patched_init_boot.img
- Next up, type in the below command to boot the device to the rooted OS: fastboot reboot
- Then launch the Magisk app. If you get a prompt, tap OK > Direct Install.
- Then hit Reboot. Your device will now reboot with root being permanent.
