How to Flash TWRP and OrangeFox Recovery on Galaxy S25/Plus/Edge/Ultra

Before starting, please take a complete device backup. Droidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device, and data by performing the below steps. NOTE: The flashing steps are the same for all four devices, i.e., S25/Plus/Edge/Ultra, and for both the recoveries- TWRP and OrangeFox.

STEP 1: Unlock Bootloader

First and foremost, you’ll have to unlock the bootloader on your device. For that, please refer to our detailed guide on How to Unlock the Bootloader on any Samsung Device [New VaultKeeper Method] . The shorter instructions follow below:

  1. To begin with, enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.
  2. Then connect your device to PC and boot it to Download Mode .
  3. Now, press the Volume Up key once to enter the Device Unlock mode.
  4. Finally, press the Volume Up once again to unlock the bootloader.
  5. Once the device boots to the OS, enable WiFi and verify that OEM Unlocking is enabled and greyed out.

STEP 2: Download TWRP Recovery/OrangeFox

STEP 3: Download Odin

Now, download Odin from here and extract it onto your PC. It will be used to flash the TWRP Recovery as well as the patched_vbmeta.tar file.

STEP 4: Boot to Download Mode

You’ll now have to boot your device to Download Mode so that Odin can identify your device and hence flash the required files. So refer to our detailed guide on How to Boot any Samsung Device to Download Mode or check out the below shorter instructions [we are listing the ADB method, if you want the hardware key combinations, then do check out the linked guide above]:

  1. To begin with, download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools.
  2. Then enable USB Debugging and connect your device to a PC via a USB.
  3. Now type in CMD in the platform-tools folder address bar and hit Enter.
  4. This will launch the Command Prompt. Now type in the below command: adb reboot download
  5. The device will now reboot to Download Mode in a matter of a few seconds.

STEP 5: Install TWRP Recovery on Samsung

  1. Open Odin via its EXE file, click on AP, and load the TWRP file.
  2. Now go to Options, uncheck Auto Reboot, and then tap on Start.
  3. The flashing will now begin. Once done, you’ll have to reboot to the recovery.
  4. For that, press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys for around 7 seconds.
  5. As soon as your device powers off [while rebooting], release the pressed keys.
  6. Now press and hold the Power and Volume Up keys for a few seconds, and your device will boot to TWRP.
  7. You may then let go of these keys as well.

STEP 6: Format Data

  1. In order to access the OS, you’ll first have to do a Format Data.
  2. So go to Wipe > Format Data > Tap YES > Hit the checkmark.
  3. You may now carry out the desired flashing using the recovery.
  4. Once done, head to Reboot and select System to boot to the OS.

  • Maxim-Root (dev twrp) 6 months ago Reply Hello, dear owners of the site, I would like to inform you about an unnecessary point in this instruction, namely point 6, data formatting, it is not needed here if a person uses the standard Samsung firmware, this point is needed if a person installs a gsi or rom on his device, since the data section is encrypted and another system will not be able to simply access the data section and will not be able to boot
