It is recommended that you try out each of the below-mentioned workarounds and then see which one spells out success. So with that in mind, let’s get started.

FIX 1: Switch to ANGLE from OpenGL

The culprit behind this issue seems to be the fact that the browser had automatically defaulted to OpenGL from ANGLE, so switching it back to ANGLE seems to have done the job.

  1. Right-click on the Chrome shortcut file and select Properties.
  2. Now go to the Target field and add the below value at the end: –disable-gpu
  3. After that, launch Chrome and head over to the below location chrome://flags/
  4. Search for the below flag, set it to Default, and restart browser. Choose ANGLE graphics backend
  5. You may now remove the –disable-gpu target from chrome.exe.

FIX 2: Reset Browser

Doing this process will reset Chrome to its default state and will also remove all your data. So make sure to sync it with your account before proceeding ahead.

  1. Open Task Manager and close all the processes of Chrome from there.
  2. Now open Run [Windows+R] type in the below location, and hit Enter. %localappdata%\Google
  3. Then right-click on the Chrome folder, select Rename, and rename it to: ChromeOld
  4. Now, relaunch Chrome and check out the results. It will no longer crash.

Moreover, as far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a fix. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workarounds are your best bet.
