Pixel 6A $100 refund from Payoneer not received? You’re not alone

After numerous reports of the Pixel 6A device’s battery overheating and even the device exploding in a few instances, Google finally decided to take action. It gave eligible users three options to choose from [apart from forcefully installing a software update that would cap the device’s battery capacity ]: replace the battery free of cost, get $100 cash , or get $150 of Google Store credits. It’s safe to assume that most of the users opted for the second option.
If you were among them as well, then you had to fill in the form provided by Google and then create your account on Payoneer [which is a popular online money transfer and digital payment service]. After that, your claim will be verified, and if it’s successful, you’ll soon receive the $100 into your bank account [the details of which you should have entered on Payoneer].

However, users have been waiting since eternity to receive this amount, with the last email being “ Your request to get payments from Google LLC is approved! ” Making matters worse is the fact that there has been no update either from Google or Payoneer . Although most of you might have got an email from the latter, however, it should be regarding ‘ Update Importer/Exporter Code ‘, something which doesn’t relate to us.
Apart from that, if you have got an email from Payoneer asking you to enter the Purpose Code for claiming $100 for your Pixel 6A, then you should select P0802 – Software consultancy/implementation . So what else can be done? Unfortunately, there’s nothing from your end that needs to be done for now [granted if you have all the prerequisites].
While some users claim to have received the payments within 2 days, others like us are waiting for close to a month with no trace of any development. While there’s no specific timeline given by Google by when we would receive the amount [this is usually the case in these types of transactions], however, they or atleast Payoneer should atleast give us an update, even if it is about payment being delayed even further.
The last email received was on 14th July- close to a month back!
This is a highly unprofessional work ethic from both parties involved , but as I have already reiterated above, there’s nothing at our disposal that we could do. Let’s just hope both they get on their toes and get this job done at the earliest, or atleast keep us to date regarding the current scenario. That’s the least we can expect from them.
As and when any of these things happen, we will update this post accordingly. For now, let’s round off on a rather disappointing and pessimistic note.
UPDATE: Here’s How I Managed to Get My $100 [Finally]

After getting tired of endlessly waiting, I opened a ticket on Payoneer and was straightaway told that I need to contact Google. So I dropped in an email to Google [to the same thread wherein I had initally got an email from them to set up my Payoneer account] notifying them of the fact that I haven’t yet received my $100 even after varrying out all the required tasks and setting up my Payoneer account.
Guess what? Within 24 hours, I got an email from Payoneer that Google has initaited a payment of $100 towards my bank account and should get it shortly.
And within the next few hours, I recieved the amount in my bank account.
So to conclude, just drop in a reminder email to Google and you should get the amount within 24 hours! Oh, and yes, once you get the amount, don’t forget to close your Payoneer account [obviously only if it’s no longer needed], or else get ready to shell out around $29 after a year!
