Pixel Flasher: Failed to Extract ‘product.img’: I/O error: How to Fix
In this guide, we will show you a nifty workaround using which you can fix the Failed to Extract ‘product.img’: I/O error in the Pixel Flasher. If you own a Pixel device, then this tool is like a blessing. It beholds a slew of useful functionalities, all of which can be carried out in just a few clicks, thereby saving your time in manually typing in the commands in the CMD window.
However, over the past few days, a bunch of users have got in touch with me with the same issue in the tool- its inability to extract the product.img file. So I shared a few fixes with them and one of them did infact do the job. Henceforth, I thought of sharing that tweak here so that if anyone else stumbles upon this problem, then this guide will help them out. On that note, let’s get started.
Fix Failed to Extract ‘product.img’: I/O Error in Pixel Flasher
To rectify this issue, you just need to update your platform tools to the latest version. Here’s how it can be done:
- Head over to your current folder of the platform tools.
- Then delete all the files present there.
- Now download the latest version of the platform tools .
- Then extract it and place all the files inside the same folder.
NOTE: We are using the same folder of platform-tools [instead of creating a new one] because we would then had to add that new path to the Environmental Variables . By using the same folder, we didn’t have to do so.
