Quectel 9008 EDL Drivers Issue [Fixed]
Recently, one of the users on my Telegram channel dropped a query that he was not able to use the MSM Download Tool. Nothing new with that, I have seen this question being asked countless times in the past. Then a few Q&A sessions followed upto the point he told me that the Device Manager was showing Quectel 9008 instead of Qualcomm HS USB QDLoaders 9008. This was really strange for me because I had never come across this keyword to date.

It was usually the QHSUSB_Bulk that irked the users [which, by the way, means that either the EDL Drivers have not been installed or have been incorrectly installed]. But this, Quectel, was something I frankly never heard of. So I did some research, got to know what exactly it is, and this, in turn, helped me in understanding the root cause of this problem and, more importantly, its fix. And in this guide, we will make you aware of just that. So without any further ado, let’s get started.
Fix Quectel 9008 EDL Drivers Issue

- To begin with, right-click on the Windows icon and select Device Manager.
- Then boot your device to EDL Mode. For that, power it off, then hold both the Volume Keys and insert the USB cable into it.
- Now keep a tab on Device Manager. Your device will either be shown under Other Devices or Ports.
- As soon as you see your device, right-click on it and select Uninstall Drivers > OK. Then restart your PC [recommended].
- Now, install the EDL Drivers from here . Then, try to boot the device to EDL Mode.
- This time, it will be shown under the Ports section as Qualcomm HS USB QDLoaders 9008.
- You may now use the desired flashing tool, and the flashing will be done without any issues.
