Samsung Hardbricked While Trying to Downgrade: Is There a Fix?
Recently, one of my friends brought his Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to me in a completely hardbricked state. Upon asking what he did, the response was exactly what I was expecting- he performed a downgrade from One UI 8 to One UI 7 via Odin, without taking into consideration the updated bootloader version (4).
Initially, he was greeted with the Fuse Y error in the Download Mode, but soon after, it went all dark. It was non-recognizable by the PC, and the device wasn’t booting to either Download Mode or Recovery Mode. Likewise, it didn’t charge or vibrate either. So all this begs an important question- is there a fix? Let’s find out.
Samsung Hardbricked While Trying to Downgrade: Can It Be Fixed?

My first course of action was to make the device bootable to Emergency Download Mode, aka the EDL Mode, and then make the PC identify the device as Qualcomm HS USB QDLoader 9008 . After installing the necessary drivers and using an EDL Cable, I was able to get this job done. So with this, I had checked off the first step off the list. But now came the most important part- the firmware flashing.

I tried every possible way to flash the firmware in the EDL Mode using a plethora of tools, but unfortunately, it all proved to be futile. This is because flashing a firmware on a Samsung device, which is in EDL mode, requires a Firehose Loader, which is only available to authorized Samsung personnel. Still, I tried searching the deep ends of the World Wide Web for this file and asked a few developer friends of mine, but none of it worked out. So I finally opted for the last approach, which was:
Sending the device back to Samsung for RMA and getting a full phone replacement.
He [my friend] might be lucky because his device was still under the replacement warranty, but not everyone might fall under this bracket. And for the latter set of users, shelling out some bucks might be their only course of action. But your device can at least access the Download Mode, then you can easily flash the stock firmware via Odin [use the CSC file instead of Home CSC as a format data is a must] and bring the device back to life.

So this is all from this writeup on fixing a Samsung device that is hardbricked while trying to do a downgrade. As you would have noticed, there’s no workaround as of now that will help you rectify this problem [unless you can access the Download Mode by any means]. Going to the Service Center and emptying your pockets [if your device is out of warranty] might be your only course of action.
