‘This’ Module is Crashing Camera on OnePlus Devices

Recently, one of the users reached out to me saying that his camera is constantly crashing. I shared a few workarounds with him, which included force stopping the camera app, disabling and then re-enabling it, deleting its cache and data, and even uninstalling its app [aka doing a downgrade]. Strangely, none of these tweaks worked in his favor.

The next question I asked was whether his device was rooted or not. His reply came in affirmative, and this gave me a major hint as to which course of action needs to be taken. I straightaway advised him to disable all the modules, one at a time, and see if the issue gets rectified [or a lengthier approach would be to disable all the modules at once and then re-enable them one at a time, until the issue re-appears].

None of these tweaks worked 🙁

Guess what? It turned out the issue was indeed fixed! And guess what. A couple of days later, another user came forward with the same issue, and he was also using the same module. I simply advised him to remove that module, and the issue was fixed once and for all.

Well, these are just two of the reported problems; there might be many other users out there who would be getting bugged by this. So I thought of documenting this issue as well as its fix so that no one else has to go through this problem anymore.
