And if you came across any idea or pinboard that isn’t in sync with your interest, then you can easily hit the not interested button and that idea and others belonging to that domain will not be shown to you from now onwards [a much needed option now that the craapy AI images has taken over]. However, for the past week or so, numerous users have voiced their concern that this Not Interested button is nowhere to be found on Pinterest.

So why has this visual discovery platform taken such an absurd decision? Where’s the Pinterest Not Interested Button? Here’s its new location!

The Not Interested button in Pinterest has been replaced with the Hide Pin option. To access it, you’ll have to tap on the three dots underneath the desired pin and select Hide Pin. Apart from that, you can also select the feedback option and choose “ not relevant to me” or “seen pin too many times”, both of which should also do the same job as the Hide Pin option.

As you might have noticed, the option is no longer accessible via just a single tap, instead, you’ll have to carry out. a few additional clicks just to use this simple feature. So why did Pinterest do so? Well, users tended to use the Not Interested button to hide ads from the platform, something similar to what users did on YouTube. Recently, the streaming giant nullified this hack by letting users only block an ad after they have completely watched it.

And now, it seems Pinterest did a similar thing as well, aka, to prevent users from blocking ads using this feature, and only use it for its intended feature- to dislike a pin. It’s just a speculation from our end for now, but there doesn’t seem to be any other valid reason for ruining the UI/UX of their platform if the aforementioned tweak wasn’t their plan.

Concluding Remarks

So, on that note, we round off this guide on the new location of Pinterest’s Not Interested button. As far as the official stance on this matter is concerned, the developers are yet to acknowledge this issue/change, let alone give out any ETA for the rollout of a ‘fix’ [if there’s going to be any]. As and when any of these two things happen, we will update this guide accordingly. In the meantime, the aforementioned workarounds are your best bet.
