WiFi not working with Quick Share Might on Pixel 10 Series [Fix]

Google recently surprised everyone by making Quick Share compatible with Apple’s AirDrop , so you don’t need to rely on third-party apps like LocalSend [though it’s the best one out there] to share files across different platforms. Initially, this feature is only supported on the latest Pixel 10 series, but even then, it wouldn’t work out of the box for those devices.

You’ll first have to update the Quick Share extension to the latest version [either from the Play Store, if available, or sideload it from a third-party site like APKMirror]. The users who did that were able to easily share the files with their iPhones, but were greeted with a rather concerning issue during this process. Many have noticed that as soon as they open the Share menu, the WiFi tends to disconnect right at that instance.

The issue is already gathering pace at numerous forums, including Reddit . Someone had opened a bug report at Google Issue Tracker , but as expected, Google has closed it and is now redirecting users to its support forum! What is even more worrisome is the fact that if they head over to the WiFi network page, the list of all the networks is gone.

If they toggle their WiFi network on and off, then they do see their WiFi network [still not the rest of the others], but cannot connect to it. The only way to bring back the WiFi is to force close the Share Sheet. So, is there a better way to deal with this problem? In other words, do we have a fix at hand? Let’s find out.

As of now, the only way to fix this issue is to downgrade the Quick Share extension to an older version. This obviously means that you wouldn’t be able to send the files to your iPhone, but at least you’ll be able to use the Share Sheet, which houses quite a lot of other means for transffering files to your iPhone, including your preffered third-party apps [while Bluetooth will also be now available, however, it’s not usuable in today’s time due to its slow file transfer speed]. So, how to do this downgrade? There are two ways out:

Via Settings Menu

  1. First off, go to Settings > Google Services and Preferences.
  2. It’s right at the top of the Settings menu, where your name and profile picture are present.
  3. Then go to the All Services tab and scroll to System Services.
  4. Now select the Quick Share extension from the list and update it.
  5. Finally, restart your device, and the app will be downgraded.

Via Third-Party Site

Download the lower version of the Quick Share app from any trusted third-party site [I usually go with APKMirror, here’s the direct link for the same] and then install it. If it’s an APKM file, then you might have to use the SAI Installer to install that file .
